Excessive Arterial Thrombus in Spherocytosis

Spherocytosis is the most common of the hereditary hemolytic anemias, with character istically shaped erythrocytes. An unusually large amount of arterial thrombus was docu mented in a dissected artery after angioplasty in a patient with spherocytosis. It is hypoth esized that the excessive arterial thrombus may have been linked to the spherocytosis.
