Excessive Arterial Thrombus in SpherocytosisA Case Report
Medical Department I Klinikum Großhadem D-81377 Munich, Germany Spherocytosis is the most common of the hereditary hemolytic anemias, with character istically shaped erythrocytes. An unusually large amount of arterial thrombus was docu mented in a dissected artery after angioplasty in a patient with spherocytosis. It is hypoth esized that the excessive arterial thrombus may have been linked to the spherocytosis.
