Department of Medicine, State Univeristy of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York Ultrasound has become an effective tool for evaluating the inferior vena cava. The authors report 3 cases that illustrate the difficulty in diagnosing partially adherant clots, which may have a high propensity for pulmonary embolism.
