Department of Neurology, University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa A case in which an eneurysm of the proximal descending thoracic aorta was the likely source of retrograde cerebral embolism is described. Atherosclerotic disease of the descending thoracic aorta should be considered as an unusual source of cerebral emboli.
