Application of Tapered Teflon Dilator to PTCA
A technique using a tapered teflon dilator was applied to percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PCTA). Seven of 10 cases were successfully dilated by using this technique. These lesions could not be dilated in the usual manner using standard PTCA balloons. This technique converted 7 of 10 failed procedures into technical successes and is the basis of this report.
