Concomitant Use of Bevantolol and Hydrochlorothiazide in the Treatment of Hypertension

The efficacy of a bevantolol/HCTZ combination dosing regimen in the treat ment of patients with mild to moderate hypertension was evaluated in the dou ble-blind phase of a multicenter study conducted at ten different centers. The objectives of this study were to determine the additive diastolic blood pressure reducing effect of bevantolol in patients already treated with HCTZ and to compare the diastolic blood pressure reducing effects of a bevantolol/HCTZ combination concurrently with that of bevantolol monotherapy.
