Tigre Hospital, Buenos Aires, Argentina Chronic venous insufficiency is defined as a state of venous hypertension that is shown by two big syndromes: the edematous and the indurating hypodermitis. The common characteristic of this pathology is the claudication of the valve function; the most frequent cases being in descending order, are the following: 1) Post-traumatic syndrome, 2) Essential insufficiency, 3) Artenovenous fistula, 4) Angioplasies. 1
