Pulmonary varix is rare, only 53 cases having been reported. A brief review of the literature is given. Because its radiologic appearance may be indistin guishable from mediastinal or pulmonary lesions, pulmonary angiography is necessary to avoid exploratory thoracotomy, mediastinoscopy, and unnecessary antituberculous therapy.
